Latest News (as of March 11)

The testing ran smoothly on March 8-9, the first two of our five testing dates. The third day of testing takes place on March 15 and the last two days will be March 29-30.

Results will not go directly to parents until the selections process is COMPLETED by the DOE's Office of Student Enrollment, Planning, and Operations and those results will be going out by mail. They cannot act on the test results until all tests and make-up dates are complete, all papers scored, and rank order score lists are forwarded to them. They should have those lists just prior to or after Spring Break but only their office can determine how long the process will take at that point. Mid-May seems like a reasonable expectation at this point.

-------------------------------------------

You may continue to email our webmaster (prubin3@twain239.org) for general admissions or Mark Twain I.S. 239 questions or phone the admissions office at (718.449.6697) for questions very specific to your child. Once OSEPO takes over, you'll be directed to contact them exclusively until we have the results as well at approximately the same time parents are receiving them.

------------------------------------------

Remember that should your child miss his/her scheduled testing date for any reason other than illness, there is no provision for rescheduling a make-up date so make sure you call the morning of the missed test, describe the medical situation that prevents your child from testing, get the required medical documentation from your child's pediatrician or other doctor, and bring it to the Admissions office directly as soon as possible. You'll be given a new appointment letter for the make-up date and any other pertinent information at that time. Please don't get angry at us if you miss the tests for some other reason. Unlike most other testing programs, we've bent over backwards with a notation on our application to deal with personal issues, religious needs, other testing conflicts, etc. As a result, only a medical excuse, in writing, is acceptable and those regulations are in agreement with OSEPO policy.
